Clash Of The Prints In Monochrome

Who doesn't love a good monochrome? In this look I have tried to mix prints with prints which happens to be a big trend of the season.

Here are my top tips to nail this trend-
  • Sticking to the same colour combination is an easy way to achieve this look.
  • Stripes are a good base to build up a print on print look.
  • Choose prints that do not clash with each other.
  • Finish your look with bright accents.

Outfit Of The Day: Brighton

Now that we are properly into spring, I must mention that a leather jacket is my absolute fashion goto! I love how versatile it can be; works fabulously with trousers, denims, skirts, dresses and pretty much everything. A complete no brainer and perfect for the transitioning season.

For this look I wasn't sure about the bag, but ended up taking my orange & pink Kate Spade Lincoln  Square Little Kennedy bag out in the end ;)

I apologise if you see multiple bags in the following photos, the first lot of pictures were taken right outside my friend's house in Brighton.

Thank God For Rimmel 3D Lash Mascara

Mascara Massacre

Here's a little funny thing about me, till about two years back, I did not use mascara at all. I found that it weighed my lashes down; the moment I put mascara on, I immediately wanted to take it all off. During my no-mascara years I often wondered why the whole world (beauty) kept stressing on the importance of mascara. I mean every model, celebrity or IT girl just couldn't or wouldn't leave her home without her favourite mascara. So when I started blogging about my outfits initially, I realised that I practically had no lashes, they were sort of invisible in pictures and I mean even in the closest of close up shots.

So I gave in and reluctantly started wearing mascara. I was still uncomfortable and felt the weight of the entire world upon my lashes. But I wanted my lashes to look pretty, full, long and fluttery! At the very least, I wanted them to show!

For a long time now I have been contemplating fake lashes or lash perm or extension. I can't bring myself to try fake lashes although I might try on the individual ones; they seem more up-my-street-kinda-thing anyway. I also don't want to shell out cash on a lash perm just yet.

Rimmel 3D Lash Mascara

I thought I needed volume on my lashes but in reality I was missing the deceptive lash curl and length. I have finally understood what the beauty gurus mean when they speak about volume or length.  Reluctant to splurge, I went to Boots and picked up the Rimmel 3D Lash Mascara. At £4.99, this is FAB.

I have never really been happy or obsessed with mascara until now. The packaging is sleek and compact, I am also loving the plastic wand; since it's a thin and precise applicator, it covers all the lash area wonderfully well. It's not making my lashes clumpy and thats why for the first time my lashes don't feel heavy, in fact it doesn't even feel like I am wearing anything at all (weight wise). I love it!

If you ever struggle with mascara and similar lash problems, take out some time to identify what you need, weather it is volume or length or both.

Maybe you won't relate to this post and that makes me the stupidest person ever. Either way I felt I should share it.

For the first time I can actually see my lashes and have kinda got the look I had a vision of. Its not the exact long curly lash look I lust after! But hey, thats life.  I might try Loreal or Maxfactor next.

And I need Shu uemura eyelash curler and maybe some falsies too! Who knows?! I might be the next false lash queen.

Let me know your mascara (horror) stories! xx

Pops Of Blue- Spring/Summer 2015 Makeup Trend

So, wearing pops of bright blue on your eyes is going to be a THING this season.

Though I am not brave enough to wear blue eyeshadow, I really wanted to try it on like a winged liner. I must say that I am quite pleased with how it looks! I think its very spring/summer appropriate and a welcome break from the usual black/brown/ashy tones.

I have used the real techniques' ultra thin eyeliner brush and the 2nd to last turquoise blue shade from the KIKO Street Glam Palette to line my eyes. The trick is to use a damp/wet brush as it ensures more color payoff and less fall out.

On My Face-

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in Soft Beige
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Warm Beige
Kiko Street Glam Eye Shadow as a liner
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Volumizing Mascara
Soap & Glory- Smoulder Kohl in Cocoa Bean

Loreal Lip Liner Couture in 302 Bois De Rose
Maybelline Gloss 70 Mocha mazing (Bought in India)
